PetVille: Clean Bombs spotted in neighbor's houses

PetVille keeps making it easier and easier to clean house -- both your own and your neighbor's. First, the game decreased the rooms and pieces of trash per house, now you can find extra Clean Bombs while poking around your neighbor's houses. If you're not the know about Clean Bombs, they're white bombs that you can use to clean your or a neighbor's pad in one fell swoop, a godsend if you want to get points and coins, but are tired of clicking on seemingly endless amounts of half-eaten cheese and empty potato chip bags. If we could only teach our pets how to clean up after themselves, then we'd be onto something (then again, that wouldn't leave us much else to do in the game).

FrontierVille Cheats and Tips: How to Earn Coins Guide

frontierville how to earn coins
If your FrontierVille frontier town is going to the shining pinnacle of western civilization, you're going to need lots of Coins. Although you need energy to do most everything in the game, Coins are just as crucial in building a successful frontier town in the wild west. Fortunately, we already covered energy and marriage with our FrontierVille Cheats and Tips: Energy Guide and FrontierVille Cheats and Tips: How to Get Married. Today we're here to bring you the FrontierVille Cheats and Tips: How to Earn Coins Guide.

frontierville coinsEarly on, FrontierVille Coins don't play a large role and you may find yourself with an abundance during the first levels. However, it's a smart idea to save up because soon you'll be ready to get married and start decorating or building your town: all requiring thousands of Coins. We warn you, there's no simple way to quickly amass a fortune. Collecting Coins takes time and effort. Nonetheless, our FrontierVille Cheats and Tips series is here to make it a bit easier for you with our coins guide. We take up the questions: How do I earn Coins? How can I get more Coins? or How can I receive free Coins? The answers to all these and more coming up after the break.

Continue reading to see the complete FrontierVille Cheats and Tips: How to earn Coins Guide.

Similar to energy, FrontierVille doesn't let you abuse the Coins system. Though there are no real Coin cheats or hacks allowing you to gain an unfair advantage, there are definitely methods that earn you more coins than others. Here are the various ways to earn Coins in FrontierVille:
Harvesting Crops
Growing and harvesting crops is the most efficient way to earn Coins in FrontierVille. Different crops will cost you different amounts of Coins to plant and will yield different rewards for harvesting. Usually the longer the time it takes a crop to grow, the more coins it will yield. However, if quick growing crops are planted and harvested repeatedly in a timely manner, more money can be earned.

It is important to take into account the amount of energy you have. One crop can be harvested with one point of energy. You don't want to be caught without any energy and lots of ripe crops, or your harvest might whither by the time you recover your energy. Nonetheless, you want to have crops growing pretty consistently since they (along with animals) will be your largest cash flow.

To earn coins quicker, try placing a "Tend This" sign next to your crops for your neighbors. Crops watered by your neighbors grow faster therefore delivering your precious Coins even quicker.
frontierville neighbor help
Using Neighbors
Neighbors are a great resource for getting extra coins. Everyday you can hire two neighbors to help on your farm for 50 Coins apiece. Even better: sometimes neighbors will appear on your land claim willing to help for free. Neighbors will net you Coins by doing work that would have normally cost you precious energy. Sounds like a good deal to us.
frontierville collections
Completing Collections
Harvesting crops, trees, animals, and doing most other actions in FrontierVille will occasionally reward you with collectible items. Once you collect one of each item in the set of five, these collection items can be traded in for rewards which often include Coins. For example, harvest enough tomatoes to collect all five items in the Tomato Collection (pictured above), and you'll receive 300 easy Coins.

Clearing Brush
Doing simple actions like clearing grass, boulders and skulls will also net you some easy bonus coins. Though, clearing brush usually only yields one Coin making it one of the slowest ways of collecting money. Either way, we have to beat the wilderness back out of our frontier town and we're glad we get some extra Coins for doing it.
Tending Animals
Like crops, harvesting or feeding animals will yield you Coins. In FrontierVille, animals are a strong investment since they continually get hungry and continually deliver even more coins. To see a complete list of all the animals and their Coin attributes check out our FrontierVille Cheats & Tips: Animal cheatsheet with all values.
frontierville goals
Completing Goalsfrontierville snake clobbering
Completing the tasks assigned to you in FrontierVille will grant you extra experience, and more importantly: Coins. As pictured above, many tasks and goals will give you handsome rewards for doing menial tasks. For example, decorating my FrontierVille town with a few hay bales earned me an easy 300 Coins. Make sure to do those tasks.

Selling Items
This is a pretty straightforward but often forgotten tip. If you have an item on your farm you don't want or need, sell it! That's easy money just going to waste on your farm. As soon as I completed the goal above, I sold those useless hay bales back for an extra few bucks.

Clobbering Animals
Doing a little clobbering now and then will earn you some serious Coins. Clobbering snakes or scaring bears will earn you a decent reward with each energy point used. However, the final blow will often release a jackpot of goodies (experience and coins) so make sure to beat up on those baddies.

Daily Bonus
When first signing in to FrontierVille, pay attention to the daily bonus. The bonus will often be food or Coins so don't miss this simple way to make money.
frontierville neighbors
Visiting/Helping Neighbors
Finally, never underestimate those neighbors! Not only can you hire them to work on your own farm, but merely visiting them will earn you some money (pictured above). Tending to five things on your neighbors' farms will also get you some coins.

Earning FrontierVille Coins won't be easy, but we hope perhaps our FrontierVille Cheats and Tips: How to earn Coins Guide has helped you or reminded you of all the various ways to pinch pennies. The more effective way to collect Coins in FrontierVille is to get out there and play without forgetting all the ways to earn cash we listed above.

First gameplay footage of iPhone Farmville

No longer just a rumor, no longer just an announcement at a press conference, Farmville on the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad/iToaster is now a reality, at least on the New Zealand App Store.

And here's the proof: a quick video showing off the basics of the iFarmville interface. Look for more detailed impressions of the newly mobile Facebook game here soon.

Calling all iPhones: FarmVille is here!

This image is not an optical illusion. FarmVille for iPhone has officially arrived in the US App Store. Millions of virtual farmers rejoice, knowing that they can now tend to their crops anytime, anywhere. You can download the game from the App Store here.

FarmVille for iPhone was first announced earlier this month at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference, and Zynga CEO Mark Pincus quickly gave a demo of the game, but didn't spill any additional details, such as an exact release date and the differences between the iPhone and Facebook versions. It makes sense, however, that the portable farm-fest rolls out now, just as iPhone 4 arrives and FarmVille celebrates its one-year anniversary.

farmville in the app store -- we can't believe our freakin eyes

The game was first spotted in the New Zealand iTunes store and downloaded immediately. First impressions of the portable FarmVille ran hot and cold. While the game seems to integrate easily with the Facebook version (enter your email and you're basically up and running) the game was moving very slowly. Like, molasses slow. When I tried the FarmVille later, it moved at a slightly faster clip, and I assume that's because it's running on the iPhone 3GS, rather than the slower iPhone 3G.
Here is a quick list of my first impressions of FarmVille for iPhone (which I have nicknamed 'PhoneVille'):

The Good:

* It's free to download and play --
* It connects easily with the Facebook version of your game
* Receiving gifts is much easier than it is on the Facebook version
* It's feels natural to use the touch screen to plant and harvest crops
* When using tractors, you can 'paint' multiple plots at once by holding and sliding your finger, and all the work is done pretty quickly. It's actually a superior tractoring experience than the Facebook version.
* The game comes with additional Apple-only content: A Rainbow Apple Tree and a Snow Leopard

The Not-So-Good:

* It takes too much time to load the game, and perform tasks in the game
* Using tractors and other machinery is a little difficult at first and takes some time to figure out
* There's still a lot of things in the original game that you can't access on the iPhone version, such as:
-- No avatar in iPhone version of the game
-- You can't buy or use building materials in the game, you can only send building materials as gifts on the iPhone
-- Puppies -- you can't take care of/interact with them on the iPhone version
-- You can only send gifts to other people playing PhoneVille
-- Collections and ribbons can only be viewed on the Facebook version of the game

Gallery: FarmVille iPhone App

Even though the game might be sluggish at times and is missing some key features, it's still a perfectly respectable replication of the game I know and love on Facebook. Check out Games.com's first impressions of FarmVille iPhone, a.k.a. PhoneVille, in the video below.

Limited time Nautilus arrives to the FishVille store

It's hardly news that FishVille has released a new limited time item in the store, because not a week goes down where they don't - but we think this one is relatively unique. The Nautilus is a marine creature that is considered a "living fossil" because it has hardly changed in millions of years. They have tentacles, a head, and gills, and can live up to 20 years.

The Nautilus in FishVille is available for only about 5 1/2 days, and costs 14 Sand Dollars. We think it's great to have something else in our aquariums other than fish, so this unique cephalopod will make a great companion for your fish and lobsters.

A sweet new version of Bejeweled Blitz

PopCap unveils a brand new version of Bejeweled Blitz -- one you can eat! OK, so this Bejeweled isn't really from PopCap, it was posted by 'ShakeSheepSound' on YouTube, and it's made of delicious candy. To see how this edible Bejeweled was created, check out the second video below, complete with indie rock/shoegazing soundtrack.

I'm impressed with the steady-handed individual tasked with moving the gem selector pieces with a tiny pair of tweezers. I also like how the artist makes it look like the pieces of candy shrink and disappear when three of the same color are matched. Talk about going to great lengths to pay homage to a game. Then again, when it's all over, you can eat your game as a reward.

FarmVille 7-Eleven promo ends, but the corny commercials will live forever

The Zynga 7-Eleven promotion officially ended on July 15 (you can still redeem codes through December, however), but these two commercials will keep the memory of our favorite Facebook game promotion alive forever.

But seriously, it's not really clear what's going on in either of these commercials (the guy from Jersey turns into a farmer? They have guns but run from the police?), but they do have that cheeseball vibe that reminds me of video games commercials from the '80s.

Give us your best interpretation of either of these videos, and whomever has the best explanation will win a Mafia Wars or FarmVille 7-Eleven code (we still have a few leftover in Games.com storage).

Help the gulf in YoVille with new Charity Pets

YoVille gulf oil spill charity pets
Zynga is all about charity efforts, and today a brand new way to help the Gulf oil spill relief efforts has surfaced in YoVille. Each week for the next four weeks, a new Charity Pet will be released. So far, we're being told that a Pelican, Sea Turtle and an Otter will be released. The fourth pet is still a mystery at this time. This week's pet is the Pelican, which is available for 30 Yo Cash. Half of the proceeds from each Charity Pet will go to the Audubon to help with the wildlife affected by the BP oil spill.

To access the new Charity Pets, click the "Help the Gulf" button in the top right of your game screen. You will then be given the option to either purchase the pet, or rally your friends. If you choose to rally your friends, you will post a wall post prompting your friends to help out. For every 10 friends that click on your wall post, you will receive a balloon accessory for your avatar.
Were you wanting to donate to help with disaster cleanup? Now is your opportunity to donate and get something in YoVille in return. Check it out by logging into YoVille today.

Treasure Isle teases about new Monkey Palace

The folks at Zynga who are in charge of Treasure Isle are a big fan of teasing players, giving us just enough information to get us excited about new features without fully spilling the beans. Today, we have learned that a new Monkey Palace will be coming soon. What do we know about it so far? According to the Treasure Isle Digger's Anonymous page (which is an official Zynga-managed Treasure Isle fan page), the monkey "might want to trade with you".

What could this mean? We have a few theories. One neat idea would be a player economy, where players can buy and sell things with each other in a player auction sort of interface. Another possibility is that the Treasure Palace monkey will provide unique limited items that can only be purchased when the monkey is around. Perhaps you can trade things in to the monkey in exchange for Island Cash or new items.

'Jersey Shore' Facebook game to promote Season 2

I've never watched a single episode of the Jersey Shore TV show. I'd like to say this is because I am a classy, cultured individual that has too much taste to watch such a low-brow, trashy program. Then I remember that I am addicted to True Blood, so I know that can't be right...

Anyway, those of you who are fond of living vicariously through the televised lives of the Jersey Shore-ians (Jersey Shore-ites?) will soon be able to do the same thing on Facebook. Reuters reports MTV's Jersey Shore Facebook game, which launches on Facebook later today, will let players "square off with one another in humorous one-on-one battles between animated versions of the outrageous cast of young housemates, using household items that play on scenes from the show."

Sounds kind of lacking in depth, to us, but the Reuters article does mention one interesting and innovative feature: the game will evolve and change on Facebook as new episodes of the show air on MTV. "There are always 3-5 things that happen (each episode) that are just so over the top that everyone is talking about them," MTV VP of social games Tony Espinoza told Reuters. "Those are the things we put in the game."

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the game will allow players to "GTL." If you don't know what that means, believe me, I now envy you.

Happy Aquarium: Wheel of Fish carries limited edition fish and turtle drama

Happy Aquarium is offering players a chance at some special Limited Edition fish of days past with their newest feature -- Wheel of Fish. Each spin costs 10 Facebook Credits (or $1.00 USD), which is a bargain, though it's disappointing to see that no Pearls option is available.

Below are the current fish available through this offer, along with their first appearances in the game (plus one Green Turtle that's gotten players seeing RED):

Happy Aquarium Wheel of Fish icon

Zemo the Clownfish (April, inspired by Pixar's "Finding Nemo")
White Beluga (April, from the "Rescue an Animal!" feature)
    Cinco de Mayo Fish (May)
    Cyclops Fish (June)
    Bat Fish (June)
    Giant Sunfish (June)
Corey the Kissing Fish (July, inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex and the City")
    Mini Magical Wizard Fish (August)
    Zebra Shark (August)
    Nurse Shark (August)
    Platypus (February)

...and one animal which doesn't appear on the wheel, but has all the players up in arms right about now, is the Green Turtle (January). This used to be a free adoptable animal, but had been discontinued.

Players argue that its prior status as a freebie means that it shouldn't be included in the wheel. Others argue that if you've got a one in twelve chance of getting a dud (in this case, the Turtle), it should be fair enough. My question is why you can't see the turtle when you're looking at the Wheel itself, because that's clearly misleading potential buyers who want to give this thing a try. And really, saying that it's meant to be random just isn't enough of an excuse.

Happy Pets heads to Willy Wonka's Petshop: Have you got a Golden Ticket yet?

For me, beloved memories of the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder beat out Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation. But Happy Pets' new Candy Pets Series is enough to satisfy both camps.

Each of the five new pets -- with the exception of the Mini Gummy Bear, which goes for 60 Facebook Credits (or $6 USD) -- cost 50 FB Credits ($5 USD). These are Tiny Candy Cat, Micro Honey Hound, Petite Jelly Parrot, and Little Cinnamon Bunny. To sweeten the pot, each Candy Pet purchase gives you a chance at a Golden Ticket, which instantly gets you a free Giant Willy Iguana!
Happy Pets Candy Pets: Tiny Candy Cat, Micro Honey Hound, Petite Jelly Parrot, Little Cinnamon Bunny, and Mini Gummy Bear
This Giant Willy is five times the size of a normal in-game iguana, while the Candy Pets are half-sized. The Giant Willy also comes with a Willy Top Hat for any pet to wear, and a Golden Ticket item to decorate your pet's room with. While the Giant Willy isn't available for purchase, the hat can be bought separately for 8 FB Credits ($0.80 USD) by clicking on a pet and selecting "Dress Up" to go to the Props store.

FrontierVille boosts coming soon, but they'll cost 'ya

FrontierVille players report that a series of Boosts have started showing up in their in-game Market -- and that they cost a boatload of Horseshoes -- 320 Horseshoes (roughly $30 in real-life cash) for the Fruit Ready boost, the most expensive of the lot.

These boosts haven't shown up in everyone's Market yet, so not sure if these are just in the testing phase or will be rolling out slowly over this week, but here's the list of boosts that have shown up so far:

Fruit Ready Boost
320 Horseshoes

Animal Ready Boost
400 Horseshoes

Fruit Harvest Boost
144 Horseshoes

Unwither Crop
80 Horseshoes

Wither Protection Boost
40 Horseshoes

We've seen Unwither protection show up in FarmVille for 200 Farm Cash (roughly $45), and it proved to be quite popular. It'd be hard to image that wouldn't be the case with these boosts in FrontierVIlle.

Mafia Wars: MADE event postponed until early 2011, lower ticket prices incoming

Zynga made an announcement today on the Mafia Wars Blog that, unfortunately, the Mafia Wars: MADE event in Las Vegas will be postponed from October 15 and 16 until early 2011. The post blames the delay on an "overwhelming response to the event" and admits that Zynga needs more time to plan the convention.

The Mafia Wars team also mentioned that this postponement will lead to lower ticket pricing and potentially a new location, most likely to accommodate more attendees. Just how much lower will Zynga be willing to go than $269.99 (for standard fare) is uncertain, but we're cautiously optimistic. An official announcement will be made within the week on the new dates for the event and you can bet your Armory that we'll be on it.

Happy Aquarium says it's time for the Age of Aquarius

It's been months since Happy Aquarium used the demo tank to showcase new items. But don't let the above image (which was ganked from the official forums) fool you -- Harold's Tank remains inhabited by grotesquely cute catfish and ship-hugging kraken. Still, the game was feeling groovy and a tank display, however static, was the best way to show it.
Happy Aquarium hippie fish
Look, it's them hippie fish! What you're seeing above is the new premium Limited Edition Pink Flower Puffer, John Denon, and Green Peace Puffer fish. All three are animated, but the puffers are the most dramatic, since they do more than swim around. When the puffers expand, you'll see a flower icon and a peace symbol on their respective bellies. It's literally pop art! Each puffer costs 20 Pearls or 17 Facebook Credits ($1.70 USD), and different genders are available. Finally, the John Denon fish is going for a pricey 62 Pearls or 52 FB Credits ($5.20 USD). But even at that price, it's out be fashionable, not political. So don't expect it to serenade players with "Imagine".
Happy Aquarium Tie Dye wallpaper and Psychedelic gravel
For ambiance, there's now a Tie Dye wallpaper (for 36 Pearls or 30 FB Credits) and Psychedelic gravel (for 69 Pearls or 58 FB Credits). And decor-wise, there's a Hippie Bug (for 14 pearls or 12 FB Credits) and Hippie Van (250 Coins). Aside from looking very much like the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, Hippie Van is also the only non-premium item in this new theme set.

FarmVille Queen Bees suddenly swarm our crops, Facebook walls

FarmVille Queen Bees, the main ingredient required to start a beehive, have been hard to come by, forcing people to either shell out Farm Cash to buy them or just skip the hive construction altogether. Looks like the beekeepers behind the scenes at Zynga heard virtual farmers pleas, because Queen Bees seem to be buzzing around more than ever.

farmville queen bee

Today, I logged into the game and got a notification that I found a Queen Bee and can share her with friends via a Facebook Wall post. I already have a hive, so I don't need one -- so this seems to be a random event designed to get everyone buzzing about bee hives again.

Social City: Cornfield Terrain lets players build a maze of maize

After creating a full-blown Halloween theme park with all of the recent additions to Social City, how could you forget the cornfield maze? Playdom just added this new terrain item to the game that costs a pricey 10,000 coins per square, though each square does provide 1,000 Happiness and 40 XP.

And just think of the possibilities. You could create the cornfield maze of your dreams and watch as your townsfolk get lost in the mess of maize. Or you could create your own rendition of FarmVille right within Social City, but it's too bad you won't be able to harvest these crops. Better yet, why not create your own crop circles and really freak out your population Orson Welles-style?

Find our Halloween 2010 guide on FarmVille, Mafia Wars and more right here.

Wild Ones' Halloween Candy Mines and other weapons are deliciously destructive

Halloween Weapons
Wild Ones just got a bit more delicious with new Halloween-themed weapons to take into the Graveyard. These new items may play to the sweet tooth, but will deal a great amount of explosive or physical damage. Here's a list of what you can buy below:

Restaurant City offers Mad Scientist mystery gift and free coins

Restaurant City Zombie Plant Specimen
Right now, you can grab 1,000 coins and a Zombie Plant Specimen in Restaurant City, courtesy of the resident mad scientist from the game's Living Dead theme. Click here for the coins. As for the free Zombie Plant Specimen, it normally costs 3,000 coins at the store, but if you don't like it, you can sell it for 1,000 coins. So grab your free plant here; either way, you win!

Restaurant City's Escape Helicopter would make the Governator proud

Escape Helicopter
Only Schwarzenegger in Restaurant City during the undead invasion screaming, "Get to the choppa!" would make this item any more awesome. Only available for another five hours as of this writing, this 450,000 coins (yikes!) item will add +1 to your maximum popularity.

Not to mention it might ensure your safety from the impending zombie hordes, but more on that later. While it's generous of Playfish to only charge coins for this item and not Playfish Cash, I sure don't know many folks with nearly a half million of them. Especially for something that, "just kind of flashed and moved a bit," says the item's description. Regardless of whether it will save your lives, at least it'll look super cool next to your mad scientist's lab and cadaver-crawling cafe.

Restaurant City Aztec Week honors Mexican history with sweet and spicy chicken

Chocolate Chili ChickenWhat spells Aztec relics and history better than refreshing hot cocoa and strangely flavored poultry? Nothing, according to Playfish's update to Restaurant City titled "Aztec Week." For seven days, we have the chance to honor the birthplace of chocolate and some of the most impressive temples built in human history.

This event introduces two new recipes to master: Exotic Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Chili Chicken (pictured right). Both of which will require lots of the sweet stuff, but only mastering the Chocolate Chili Chicken will reward players with access to the Aztec Temple decoration. While the new dishes are the star of the show, there are tons of new items to deck your cafe out to look like an ancient Mayan eatery.

These items are slowly being rolled out into the game, with only a few items currently available for free gifting like Aztec Woven Basket, Aztec Dragon Statue and the Aztec Statue. However, what have to look forward to later this week are items such as the Aztec Chief, a Shaman Waiter and a Pan Pipe Band. The more interesting incoming furniture includes a Golden Inca Statue, a Golden Sundial, and the Aztec Calender. (As long as it isn't Mayan we're in the clear.) Expect more items to show up later this week, but in the meantime feel free to ogle on the Restaurant City Blog.

Restaurant City: Just when you thought Halloween was over...

...the ghouls have invaded Restaurant City again, and this time, they're stalking the streets in broad daylight! (This isn't as cool as the endless hours of darkness imposed over the game during the holiday, but players can easily replicate the effect for themselves by completing the Lounge Bar or buying the Night Sculpture for 20 Playfish Cash.) But I'm certainly not complaining, cause it's clear that "The Ghouls are Unleashed" is a great feature for releasing special items, and if Playfish wants to milk it for all its worth, that just means more freebies for us.

Today's Gold award is the Golden Inca Statue, which doesn't exactly tie into their upcoming Aztec Week. But it's due to cultural ignorance more than insensitivity that gets people lumping the Mayans, Aztecs, and Incans together. Anyway, the game's set the cost of the statue at 4,000 Coins, but it's not available at the store. The sell price on it is 1,333 Coins, so if you don't like it, you can sell it for coinage.

As for the other awards, Bronze grants you a free 500 Coins, and Silver is offering a free Chili ingredient, which is mighty considerate of Playfish. You see, Chili is one of four ingredients required to master the Chili Chocolate Chicken, so expect it to disappear fast.

Chocolatier on Facebook enables choco-lovers to buy real-life sweets in game

If you've played Chocolatier on Facebook, then you're probably more than familiar with the game's uncanny ability to make you want to go out and buy actual chocolate. There's just something about stirring vats of virtual chocolate and putting it on display in your oh-so quaint shop that makes you want to nibble on bon-bons while you work.

Chocolatier is now taking its role as a chocolate enabler much more seriously, as the game announces a partnership with the San Francisco-based Charles' Chocolates. Now you can make virtual versions of the brands more popular "creations" and buy real-life versions of the same chocolates at a 10% discount until December 31 from inside the game. So much for that pre-holiday diet.

FarmVille-creator Zynga wants a 'dog activated world'

Zynga wants to be everywhere
Zynga CEO Mark Pincus revealed an interesting, if vague, fact about the company's mission for the future at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco yesterday. Pincus wants Zynga at your beck and call on every device and platform you're on. While the topic of the conference was titled "Points of Control," the CEO said, "The future is not about points of control (where companies control what users see). It's about user control. Users will have services that they feel will be basic, like a dial tone. It's always there. It's annoying if it's not there," VentureBeat reports.

In other words, it appears he wants Zynga to become as ubiquitous as, say, Facebook itself. And with a pool of 320 million users and up to three million logged in at any point, Pincus might be onto something. If he has his way, Zynga will serve a very specific purpose in the future.

"It's for when you don't have time to watch movies or TV or console video games," Pincus said yesterday. And how he hopes to accomplish this goal of instant-on, goal-driven gaming while increasing Zynga's 300 million plus users is by focusing on the hooks that draw players in, what Pincus calls "bold beats," according to VentureBeat. If Zynga improves upon these hooks, making them more meaningful to players, playing Zynga games could become second nature.

Also mentioned in his talk was that there are 400 employees focused on new intellectual property, which means brand new games are, in fact, on the way. Pincus also bragged about FrontierVille's 650 thousand same-sex marriages claiming, "That's amazing, that's probably more than any country in the whole world," according to TechCrunch. With sky high claims like these, Zynga officially has massive shoes to fill.

Facebook games discovery returns in 2011 with TeePee Games

TeePee Games
We all know discovering new games to play has been nigh impossible since Facebook essentially ruined it for everyone, so former Player X CEO Tony Pearce hopes to provide the answer we've been looking for with TeePee Games. A brand new games discovery service, TeePee Games promises to provide gamers with smart recommendations for games based on what they play. According to TeePee Games co-founder and CEO Pearce, "TeePee Games has built an incredible discovery engine, a cross between Amazon's recommendation engine and Apple Genius."

In other words, this service will suggest new games for you to play based on what you're already into. Better yet, the portal pulls games from Facebook, the mobile space and your everyday Flash games. TeePee Games also integrates Facebook Connect, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace to serve as your social gaming hub. Pearce hopes his new service will solve the game-discovery problem created by the top 20 games that dominate every category.

It's been a growing trend in the industry that developers are either making a mad dash for other platforms or outright rejecting the social network as the end all, be all for social gaming. While TeePee seems to serve a slightly different purpose, it could provide gamers with an avenue of escape from Facebook. That is, if they want to.

TeePee games will launch in early 2011 with several games provided by Facebook, mobile and Flash game developers and publishers. Though, TeePee Games is about to face some serious competition if Facebook's fabled Games Portal launches before then.
