YoVille gulf oil spill charity pets
Zynga is all about charity efforts, and today a brand new way to help the Gulf oil spill relief efforts has surfaced in YoVille. Each week for the next four weeks, a new Charity Pet will be released. So far, we're being told that a Pelican, Sea Turtle and an Otter will be released. The fourth pet is still a mystery at this time. This week's pet is the Pelican, which is available for 30 Yo Cash. Half of the proceeds from each Charity Pet will go to the Audubon to help with the wildlife affected by the BP oil spill.
To access the new Charity Pets, click the "Help the Gulf" button in the top right of your game screen. You will then be given the option to either purchase the pet, or rally your friends. If you choose to rally your friends, you will post a wall post prompting your friends to help out. For every 10 friends that click on your wall post, you will receive a balloon accessory for your avatar.
Were you wanting to donate to help with disaster cleanup? Now is your opportunity to donate and get something in YoVille in return. Check it out by logging into YoVille today.

Treasure Isle teases about new Monkey Palace
The folks at Zynga who are in charge of Treasure Isle are a big fan of teasing players, giving us just enough information to get us excited about new features without fully spilling the beans. Today, we have learned that a new Monkey Palace will be coming soon. What do we know about it so far? According to the Treasure Isle Digger's Anonymous page (which is an official Zynga-managed Treasure Isle fan page), the monkey "might want to trade with you".
What could this mean? We have a few theories. One neat idea would be a player economy, where players can buy and sell things with each other in a player auction sort of interface. Another possibility is that the Treasure Palace monkey will provide unique limited items that can only be purchased when the monkey is around. Perhaps you can trade things in to the monkey in exchange for Island Cash or new items.

'Jersey Shore' Facebook game to promote Season 2
I've never watched a single episode of the Jersey Shore TV show. I'd like to say this is because I am a classy, cultured individual that has too much taste to watch such a low-brow, trashy program. Then I remember that I am addicted to True Blood, so I know that can't be right...
Anyway, those of you who are fond of living vicariously through the televised lives of the Jersey Shore-ians (Jersey Shore-ites?) will soon be able to do the same thing on Facebook. Reuters reports MTV's Jersey Shore Facebook game, which launches on Facebook later today, will let players "square off with one another in humorous one-on-one battles between animated versions of the outrageous cast of young housemates, using household items that play on scenes from the show."
Sounds kind of lacking in depth, to us, but the Reuters article does mention one interesting and innovative feature: the game will evolve and change on Facebook as new episodes of the show air on MTV. "There are always 3-5 things that happen (each episode) that are just so over the top that everyone is talking about them," MTV VP of social games Tony Espinoza told Reuters. "Those are the things we put in the game."
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the game will allow players to "GTL." If you don't know what that means, believe me, I now envy you.

Happy Aquarium: Wheel of Fish carries limited edition fish and turtle drama
Happy Aquarium is offering players a chance at some special Limited Edition fish of days past with their newest feature -- Wheel of Fish. Each spin costs 10 Facebook Credits (or $1.00 USD), which is a bargain, though it's disappointing to see that no Pearls option is available.
Below are the current fish available through this offer, along with their first appearances in the game (plus one Green Turtle that's gotten players seeing RED):
Happy Aquarium Wheel of Fish icon
Zemo the Clownfish (April, inspired by Pixar's "Finding Nemo")
White Beluga (April, from the "Rescue an Animal!" feature)
Cinco de Mayo Fish (May)
Cyclops Fish (June)
Bat Fish (June)
Giant Sunfish (June)
Corey the Kissing Fish (July, inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex and the City")
Mini Magical Wizard Fish (August)
Zebra Shark (August)
Nurse Shark (August)
Platypus (February)
...and one animal which doesn't appear on the wheel, but has all the players up in arms right about now, is the Green Turtle (January). This used to be a free adoptable animal, but had been discontinued.
Players argue that its prior status as a freebie means that it shouldn't be included in the wheel. Others argue that if you've got a one in twelve chance of getting a dud (in this case, the Turtle), it should be fair enough. My question is why you can't see the turtle when you're looking at the Wheel itself, because that's clearly misleading potential buyers who want to give this thing a try. And really, saying that it's meant to be random just isn't enough of an excuse.

Happy Pets heads to Willy Wonka's Petshop: Have you got a Golden Ticket yet?
For me, beloved memories of the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder beat out Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation. But Happy Pets' new Candy Pets Series is enough to satisfy both camps.
Each of the five new pets -- with the exception of the Mini Gummy Bear, which goes for 60 Facebook Credits (or $6 USD) -- cost 50 FB Credits ($5 USD). These are Tiny Candy Cat, Micro Honey Hound, Petite Jelly Parrot, and Little Cinnamon Bunny. To sweeten the pot, each Candy Pet purchase gives you a chance at a Golden Ticket, which instantly gets you a free Giant Willy Iguana!

This Giant Willy is five times the size of a normal in-game iguana, while the Candy Pets are half-sized. The Giant Willy also comes with a Willy Top Hat for any pet to wear, and a Golden Ticket item to decorate your pet's room with. While the Giant Willy isn't available for purchase, the hat can be bought separately for 8 FB Credits ($0.80 USD) by clicking on a pet and selecting "Dress Up" to go to the Props store.
